A little help with your journal
Your entries live on your device. Here is how to write, export, back up and keep them.
Writing and editing
Today holds one sentence of up to 280 characters. Turn on Suggest a question under Settings → Writing for an optional starting point. Tap the suggested question to see another.
You can correct an existing entry on its day and the following calendar day. Older entries stay as written. Linewell does not let you fill in days you missed. An unfinished draft from yesterday may be offered so you can finish it while it is still editable.
You can delete any entry from History, including an older entry. A brief Undo gives you a chance to reverse that deletion. Afterward, restoring a saved backup is the way to recover an entry if your backup includes it.
Export your diary as text
Open Settings → Export → Save as text. Choose where to save the file. Text export is free. On platforms where saving is unavailable, or if you prefer another destination, use Send it somewhere instead.
Make a backup before changing phones
With Premium, open Settings → Backup and save a JSON backup. Store that file somewhere you will still be able to reach after changing or losing your device. The file contains entries and settings in readable form, so keep it private.
To restore, open Settings → Backup and choose the saved JSON file. Review the preview before confirming. Restoring can add entries and replace entries with the same date. Purchase entitlements are managed separately and are not included in the backup.
Linewell has no account-based journal recovery or automatic Linewell cloud sync. Device backups may provide another copy depending on your Apple or Android settings; do not rely on that without checking your own backup configuration.
Make a PDF book
Premium includes two editions under Settings → Export: Year Book and Story Book. Choose an edition and year, preview it, then save or share the PDF. PDFs are reading copies; use JSON backup for a file you can restore into the app.
Reminders
Open Settings → Reminders, turn on the daily reminder and choose a time. Allow notifications when your device asks. If reminders do not arrive, check Linewell's notification permissions and your device's Focus or Do Not Disturb settings. Daily reminders are free.
Restore Premium
Open Settings → Premium → Restore purchase. Use the same Apple or Google Play account that made the purchase and make sure the device can connect to the internet. Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Apple and Google Play purchases are managed separately.
